Personality: The child of two intelligent, successful doctors, Emma was a childhood prodigy. Her aunt, also a doctor, raised her to be kind and caring. She also gave Emma a strong work ethic and great compassion for humanity.

Being raised by her aunt also instilled a certain sense of abandonment. The combination of work ethic and abandonment issues gave rise to a need for approval and to be the best at everything she did. This led Emma to devote herself fully to schooling, wanting to be a doctor like her aunt, mother, and father.


History: Emma was the product of a one night stand at a Johns Hopkins reunion between Gregory House and Emma Laurie. House made it clear he wanted nothing to do with the child, save paying his fair share. Emma had wanted more, but remembered what kind of man House was, so she accepted. Unfortunately, Emma died in childbirth. House still refused to have any responsibility for the child, so she was given to her mother’s sister and was raised in Baltimore, Maryland.

Emma’s intelligence and work ethic allowed her to graduate high school, college, and medical school extremely early, to the extent she completed all her schooling at the age of 22. A bright future ahead of her, she decided to track down her father, searching for answers as to why he wanted nothing to do for her beyond paying her bills. This lead her first to Princeton, New Jersey and ultimately to Louisville, Kentucky.
