History: Born in New York, to Barbara and Richard Gordon, Amber was identified very early as a Potential Slayer. However, Bruce, her father's father, used his money and political connections to prevent the council from taking her away. It wasn't until much later, during the fight against the First, that Amber was forced to leave home.

Before that, however, she was trained in various forms of martial arts by the best teachers money could buy. By the time the First came after her, she was as well trained, if not better trained, than most Potentials. She didn't make it to Sunnydale in time for the final battle, but was found by the new council not long after. She met Vi, another Slayer, and the rest is history.
